So today's studio lighting not so smooth, we are dealing with our Mr.Pony's furs and I think that he's just too much of an attention to the lights surrounds him. ( In short, he's just catching too much light).

Well, I think the other group's are doing hard and clear-cut objects so they do not have so much of a problem.

but I think the thing is, when something not so good happen, there's always a turning point.

Cheeyong briefed us on ex4&5 today and at the end he said for the edge lighting, the easiest would be the donkey. (pointed at my pony)


-.- well

I lost count how many times I remind him it's a PONY and not a donkey/dog/monkey..etc.

Although there's much to adjust and try out next week, I really thanked my dear peeps for helping us out!:D


Shells, cat, octopus, seaweeds, eels and of course squid!:D Yes we have wonderful marine lives!:D

Thank you guys so much for kidnapping/bullying my pony and yes, we'll do that all over again next week!8D

I have decided my future path and I'm gonna work hard towards it no matter what. Thanks to the advices given by my love ones. Also the supports you guys gave me.

I'll stay strong and continue to pursue my dream:)


Today I went to Orchard to met S and we had lunch in HK restuarant in ION orchard!:) Nice interior design and I love the bird cages!:) Shall record the ideas into my witty book:D

Then we wander about in Far East and the Orchard area for S's shoes:) In the end I'm half-convinced to buy a shorts from pull and bear and shall wear it soon(when I lost another 2 kg 8D )

So tomorrow meeting W and E for our studio lighting works in the morning and I shall be sleeping real soon!:)


Today's another eventful day and I have post up new deviations on DA as well as my wonderlands!:D


Once again, I'm always very glad and grateful that I am able to do what I like to do:)

YES MAN!

Alright, with my dry eyes I shall finish this post real quick.

That's one of the most interesting movie I have ever watched. YES MAN!:) Nice one.

Somehow I think everyone sees a little of himself/herself in Carl ;)


Learn to say yes at the right moments.


and YES! today's Lasalle's grad show's awesome!:D I really think the information is overwhelming and somehow a bit too much to absorb though, haha!:)

Highly recommended those who haven't been there to take a look, and as far as I have been to the school.. geez! they got a huge campus! (*cough* hint to somebody..)

I met some campus peeps in the show too!:D (see how small the world can be)

By the way, I think I took a lot of namecards. Which many are pretty awesome:) I can stack them all up and i think it pretty much filled up a space.


Well, i think sometimes you can find learning points in anything. It's just a matter of whether you set your heart& feet to find out or not. :)




So the learning point for Yes man?


I would say that you should say yes at the right time.


and it means not saying yes/agree to everything but think before you make a decision.

When you say yes at the right time, opportunities come.
When you say yes at the wrong time, troubles visit.

and when you started to be positive and willing to help others by saying yes, you find out that you're no longer living in you tiny box alone. Many would be willing to come to you, sincerely.


It's really a nice movie for you to laugh about and learn things at the same time. Thanks to Jim Carrey. :)




Another thing is I think i watched 3 movies(well at least a 2.5) today that I think i have got enough radioactive things in my body so I should make a move to sleep soon.

The other movie I watched was Alice in the wonderland. The movie which I had some interest in it.

I had heard many saying the storylines sucks to the max and only some are playing their roles in it(you know who).

However, why don't we think this way? As a designer, we can take up really interesting inspirations in the movie. From the settings of every parts of the story to the uniqueness of any character designed for the big screen.

I think there's many to list and for which, the movie becomes interesting.

The last movie I watched is a movie about the war between Iraq and the US troops(sounds familiar in the textbooks?xD)

It was really a heavy topic and it let us pause and ponder the jobs of the soldiers as well as the civilians who's staying there.


Does life differentiate itself by classifying or by the sides you take on?


So this probably sums up my day (okay I'm a bit tried now.) and actually the movie sequence is Alice in the wonderland(in the morning), Lasalle Visual Arts Exhibition(in the afternoon), War movie(at night) and Yes Man(just now).



What an eventful day:)

Oh and I create a new wonderland today:) gotta do more adjustments tomorrow.

Life's a series of choices indeed

Anyway, over these 1 and a half day I'm thinking about my future plans and current choices. Yes the option exercise.

After talking to many and discuss the various outcomes, I'm finally settling down to the decision.

In fact I had already decided all this while, just because of some reasons I need to consider a lot and pause and ponder.

So there will be no more hesitation. I am going to follow what my heart says.


Sometimes I'm really grateful that I can have my right and freedom to choose.


O'well, set aside this, I've been recording ideas/inspirations in my dear witty book and I'm feeling so happy by doing so.

It's really essential for a designer to have a proper sketchbook:)


So the plan for tomorrow is that I'll probably head down to bugis to see Lasalle's graduation show and also wonder myself around the area (give self excuses to eat and shop!)


I am excited towards my semester 2.2 and of course the few other modules!:)

Enjoying life makes your works so much easier!:)

Oh it just flash like nonstop!

First of all, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SEAN!!!:D HAPPY 18!!:D

Okay yesterday was doing this poster for him so I din't got time to blog(crap) ;)

It took me some time but I guess it's worth it:)


So today studio lighting continues and I think our group did quite a good job for the photos as we work together+speed up+accurate shooting so we get quite decent results!:)

We started around 2pm(which the previous hours were used to cut the board+eating lunch) and it only took us an hour or so to finish it!:D

Tomorrow will be to complete the exercise(we're moving fast!) and have lunch with N, E and A!:D

In the meanwhile, we have real fun with our classmates I, Y and H!:D with Cheeyong dropping by to 'gossip' and say jokes:)

I think this block is really an interesting and enjoyable module with funny lecturers and interesting classmates(some are slackers)!:D

NICE MONDAY!

As you can see, nowadays my post are quite positive because I'm really in a good mood!:)
(Well, except for one small accident which only T knows..)

Now I shall explain what's the picture about. It's one of my favourite Illustrator Sugarcream who added my deviations as her favourite!!

Yes she's a nice Italian:) and we chat many times on DA discussing the various tools such as wacom bamboo v.s Intuos4 8D

It's really good that I can learn a lot from her:)

I also chat with my Tw friends V, R and X recently quite often and I just can't wait to go back and meet up with them!:)

but first thing first, works have to be completed before I do so ;P


Anyway I also sort of 'practise' with A about our Italian and the result is quite good!(well, at least we manage to remember some:D)

There's just too many languages in my head that cause me to forget a lot.

and nowadays I got a new nickname from my new classmates----Squid.

which was given by E, who said I'm blur.


WELL LET ME TELL YA THIS: I AM NOT!! EVERYTHING IS IN MY CONTROL!! 8D

This Sunday is one the best Sunday ever!:D

We meet S at City Hall for a lovely lunch first before setting off for a casual walk to esplanade!:3 (Okay partially we try to burn out our fats xD)

So as we wonder about from citylink to esplanade we find ourselves sitting in Häagen-Dazs again.
(Oops)

S says I can forget about going on a diet. Lols.

As a result of couldn't resist temptations we each order a dessert/dolce( haha Italian!8D).

Sushi Platter by dad ( so he says we can tell mom that he did not have any desserts, only sushi.) LOLS!

I have to say I love their recent menu as it consists of awesome visuals that will tempt you and cause you trouble by thinking which one to choose. (They all look delicious!:D)

Oh my funny saturday

I dint really went into deep research about this and so now i know there's 4 models to this brand.
Coupe, Spyder, Trofeo, quattroporte
and anyway this one is a maserati granturismo ;D

So this morning is the lovely yoga lesson( oh I'm more flexible now~:D) and there's a drizzle that cause me to wonder about before I found my class >_<

and then i found SY online so we have a little chat before she set off to feed her cat and stuff:)

Nice talking to her for these 2 days:)

and I think i spend most of my day sitting in front of the computer (lazy bug) and only move out to feed at night ( am I in a zoo?)

So now here i am, once again, in front of the computer.

LOLS.


Anyway I shall sleep early and embrace my lovely Sunday with a smile!:)

Tiring days

Just something funny to start off with:) The photo Yee See took during our year1!:D

It's really a carefree year~:)

But somehow I find greater improvements in my 2nd year so far

I suppose it is a good news, haha 8D

Anyway today's studio lighting is fun while we set up everything for my Mr.Pony's photoshoot!:D
I tried out different lights like open bulb, soft box, white/silver umbrella, snoot and barn door!:)

Well practically we haven't touch the barn door yet but we'll see!:)


I think the shooting takes us a few hours to move the different sorts of lights around and frankly speaking, it's pretty tiring.

but as we see the end product(which is the shots) at the end of the day we're pretty glad that the time's well spent:)

Clap clap to photographer(we take turns!:)) and teamwork!:)

So the weekend is left for my yoga(wake up early!:3) and my own self projects!:)

Nice for this block that there's no more drag over works to complete at home:)

I'm pretty fine with my group now as everyone's hardworking:)



Okay enough talk and I shall prepare myself for YOGA tomorrow!:D

Studio Studio Studio lighting!!

I kinda like the feel of this photo and so, it becomes the cover for my new post 8D

Okay today's studio lighting is pretty okay and I see the cute sides of my classmates as they all bring in soft toys/small objects/skateboards and anything they like into the class to try it out xD

haha I'm pretty sure they have lovely childhood yeah?:)

anyway so in the end, W's ornaments(pretty!) was out, the striped off tiger of En yu's was out, and then...


My dear PONY got selected!xD

Anyway I'll be spending the lovely days with him for the rest of the month! Or rather our team.

How lovely:)


I have finally submitted my entry to the competition after several attempts to fight against bad internet connection.

I feel really happy to see my work up there competing even though is not selected yet

We'll see 8D


M is going back and wish her a bon vovage:)

Linked back to the life of the commoners, Cheeyong was discussing this question with us during the class:

"What do you think are the two things a designer should have in the design industry?" He asked.

"Creativity?" Cassie said.

"Yes, and one more?" He asked again.

"...." The class is silent.

"Talent." He answered. (after seeing no one knows it.)

So he said, there's 2 types of designers existing right now, one being the creative type(those we hate), and the other being the hardworking type(those most of us are).

Which type are you?:D


Anyway, another funny thing about photography, or rather photographer nowadays he mentioned is that :

"We're having shoot and check photographer instead of think and shoot." He laughed.

and that's really true!

since when did you not see a student taking up photography with their awesome cameras and just point and shoot for like 100+times and spending a few minutes in between just to hear some words coming out from their mouth.

"Shoot, I should have gone lower!"

"Oh dear, what's that black box at my background!"

"Damn the floor isn't parallel with my stairs..."

And many things like that.

As I recall from M's class, he always tell us to think before you shoot, and therefore no cropping of image as you are suppose to compose from your own camera before you shoot anything.

and this is certainly right for this situation.

Are we using our brains to think first before clicking or are we thinking after we click?


I think that's an area where most of us, including me should improve on.




Bring meaning to everything you do, and not just by producing pretty good-looking works.

Happy tuesday spent in VIVO CITY!! and yes the photo got nothing to do with vivo but PARAGON which I visited on monday!:D

Anyway as I am always a random person, I decided to go to a random place today which is VIVO!:D

Maybe you may think why vivo (as many people think there's nothing fun there) but let me tell you why--(Okay I'm super high today)

because of PAGEONE!!:D Such a wonderful place for books! (yes I'm a book freak)

and although according to T, the pricing there is freaking not student-friendly, there's always sample books for you to browse through!8D

Yes I love book stores and library:) especially Pageone cox it reminds me of the one in Taipei 101:)


Miss those days where I sat down with B and X to read books, with W who doesn't like books but be there with us(because of X! haha!)

Just finish chatting with R and it did bring back some of the memories. Most of them are studying at the southern part of Taiwan and is really hard to meet up with them but I'll try my best next time okay?xD

and guess what I treat myself today?:)


Tada!(I know I got many sketchbooks/notebooks/notepads/papers,etc etc) and yes I promise I'll treasure you by recording my awesome ideas in you!(promise as always)

Update!

As you can see, I have rearrange some of the icons and give my blog a new look(sort of).

I think I'm just sick of the dots that's distracting me every time I post. Haha!

Anyway, the illustration is done by me and yes it is a new deviation I post up to DA:)

Recently I have been addicted to my dear Wacom Intuos4 so that I kind of gone mad doing lots of illustrations.

As a result, many of these illustrations/scraps/icons/drawings will go to DA and My Wonderland:) which I'll comment more on my inspirations and stuff. The space is for illustration works mainly and I only give the URL to limited people:)


So maybe you'll ask, My wonderland is kind of secretive I supposed? and the answer should be yes:)


Anyway today's actually a nice day spend walking around Orchard road to look at some exhibitions and yes photos!:D

I think I kind of lose weight after several hours of walking but well.. (exercise is good!)

Will be going to Bugis in the morning most probably and finish up my second illustration using my dear Wacom Intuos4!


Okay I just have to keep emphasizing on how useful it can be if you know how2 use it ;D

and I still keep my pink nails on!! I shall remove it soon (such a waste).

One of the most interesting anime movie after 'UP' :)

Today's rather good because I manage to finish the work I've been working on for the past four sessions and here it is. Ready to fly off to Taiwan for my cousin!:D

Hopefully it makes a special gift to him:)


I'm kinda stuck with KT Tunstall recently after her "Suddenly I see" in the movie 'Devil wears Prada'. Now I love the other song of hers. 'Other side of the world'


Somehow it brings out some complex feelings deep down in me but I shall just stop here and leave the rest to myself:)


Although today's raining in the afternoon, I manage to wonder about around the town area as well as China town and tanjong:) One of the most often visit places of mine.

Now here I am, sitting down in front of my dear lappy and continuing my work which is gonna be submitted to the competition and also uploaded to DA (if I'm fast enough).


Thanks to my dear Wacom once again!8D

It makes vectoring so much easier to me:) and recently I asked one of my favourite illustrators sugarcream if she's also using a pen tablet and she says yes!:)

A short break 8D

Went to VJC's guitar concert "The Perfect Fifth" on Friday night and it was totally awesome!:D

Sometimes it just bring me back to the times where I used to perform on stage and all the spotlights are getting on our nerves as we kept complaining about how hot it was on stage.

Due to such experiences I know how much effort they must put in in order to put up a show like this. So in terms of this, I think they did a pretty good job:)

Because it's a special night so did put on a bit of make up;D

Make up of the day: a light eye make up just to give a little touch:)

As for Italian class, I did pretty well for the role play and score the highest in my writing test!xD

I'm pretty happy that I got the result but would be more happy if I know where my missing 2 marks went as Sabrina said she was expecting me for a full marks

O'well, I shall be more careful next time:)

For Pixel Collage class, Ferdi's quite happy with my work on deforestation and he even said I can make it into a real editorial illustration for my portfolio!:D

Personally I am quite satisfied with the result and it's really great that I got the help from my beloved Wacom Intuos Pen Tablet!! many loves and kisses goes to my darling for helping me to complete my work faster:)

I would be submitting the piece to the Adobe competition just to give it a try and as there's some issue regarding the usage of certain things I would have to make some adjustments:)

and tomorrow's work again!:) I have passed this block perfectly<3

haha, so that's a side track.

Today's Italian writing test is pretty easy. I manage to finish the paper within 15min.

For the quiz, I use some of my common sense (95%) and some knowledge I gained from my peers' presentation(5%) to answer.

Well there's this question on what is the logo for Alfa Romeo?

a) the map of Milan (or sth along the line xD)
b) bull
c) horse


Of course C is the first one I crossed out because that's the logo for Fararri!:D
(I might not drive an expensive car but I know them!:D)

and then there left bull and option a.

From what I saw from the car in the neighbourhood. I manage to cross out the bull.

So tada! Milan which is option A!:D

Then for the listening test... well, I just leave that to fate.

But it turns out to be quite okay. I tried my best 8D

Then there's role play on friday, which I manage to draft out the script with sweehan:D



I have to act extremely exaggerated again, hopefully my brain don't betray me and I can say it out fluently.


Today I happened to pass by the book fare at 1st floor and there's so much interesting design books offered!!:D


I saw one book on illustrations and sketches and get so tempted to buy it but after much thought i put it back.

and guess what.


Someone came later and purchase it with $26!

O'man, after the 20% discount is so worth the money!:x

I shall get it tomorrow if it's lucky to be there when I go :)



Well, I'm very happy my internet works again after almost a week and yes, I'm back on blogging!:D

Okay as Kite request I finally decided to update my blog (wahaha!)

Well, three weeks flew by and we have only one more week left to finish this block.

I'm still kinda maintaining a good mood over the past few weeks (because of yoga & Jar) that I din't get much affected by some of the down turns in life.

To be exact, I only feel down once since school starts. I guess some of you know why.

So I shall not elaborate further :)


Going to get my dearest Wacom tablet probably by tomorrow!:D

I promise I'll work hard during the holidays 8D

My uncle's dog. She's my fav girl:))<3

Anw, today's work is quite okay except that I'm kinda exhausted carrying things around. Therefore, $6.50 is spent for Starbucks iced chocolate as a rewarding gift to myself.(I shall stop spending soon!)

and I'm happy that this friendly dude said hello to me when I walked in. Though we never talked before. (maybe Americans are just more friendly as compare to other westerners.)

so as a polite lady, I said bye bye when I went off. :) (frankly speaking he's quite cute).

It make me recalled the time when I was in Taiwan and M was friendly to chat with me for awhile too. Same as J and the rest:)

O'well, time to sleep. I'm tired.
